Brewerton Pier Opens

Under beautiful sunny skies , the Brewerton Pier was officially opened. Hastings Town  Supervisor Tony Bush welcomed Brian Stratton  Director of New York Canal , Joanne Mahoney,  Chairwoman of the Thruway Board of Directors, Assemblyman Will Barclay, and Town of Cicero Supervisor Mark Venesky,  The Three million dollar pier replaced the old one that crumbled several years ago.  State Senator Patty Ritchie was instrumental in securing state money to help fund the project.

The Brewerton Pier is handicap accessible and will be a huge economic driver for the Town of Hastings.

Happy Days Senior Luncheon

Supervisor Tony Bush addressed a large group of seniors at their monthly meeting on April 27.   Supervisor Bush talked about the many improvements going on with the Town of Hastings parks.  He also talked about the progress at the CNY Raceway.  Bush answered many questions and concerns the seniors had.  Happy Days Senior Luncheons are held at the Brewerton United Methodist Church and jointly sponsored with Divine Mercy Parish.

Public Hearing January 7, 2014

Legal Notice

On _January 7 , 2014 at 7:00 p.m., the Hastings Town Board will hold a public hearing on the Central New York Raceway Park, Inc. application for Special Use Permit and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the construction of a motor sports and harness racing complex.
The hearing will be held at Town Hall, 1134 U.S. Route 11.

The racing complex is proposed for 150 acres of land located between U.S. Route 11 and Interstate Route 81, running north from the existing Brewerton Raceway to the Central Square Middle School. The proposal includes a road course and dirt track, a 50 bay garage, restaurant, banquet facilities, and parking for 4,500 vehicles. The proposal also includes a horse stabling barn and paddock area. Potential environmental impacts include fill or disturbance of wetlands; elimination or disturbance of vegetation, wildlife habitat and wildlife; air quality, noise and other traffic related impacts; change to the visual environment and changes in land use.
